Dr. Wong is a board certified, dual fellowship trained neurosurgeon specializing in degenerative spinal conditions, complex spinal deformities, tumors and spinal trauma. Dr. Wong completed his fellowship training for minimally invasive spinal surgery (MISS) from Stanford University Medical School and complex spine deformity surgery at Northwestern University.

Dr. Wong applies his expert skill and expansive knowledge as a neurosurgeon dual fellowship trained in spine surgery for every unique patient and their condition. He has extensive experience with the newest technologies including computer guided robotic navigation, augmented reality assisted surgeries, microscopic minimally invasive surgeries, endoscopic surgeries with incisions less than ½ inch, and motion preservation with artificial disc replacements. He routinely operates in our state-of-the-art outpatient center and DOCS Surgical Hospital – allowing patients access to shorter hospital stays, minimal chance of infection, minimal scarring and accelerated recovery rate.

Dr. Wong utilizes his expert skill in the latest minimally invasive procedures including endoscopic surgeries that can achieve optimal patient outcomes with incisions less than ½ inch in size. The majority of times, the outpatient endoscopic surgical patients return home with a regular-sized band-aid over the incision site! He is also a leading expert in motion preservation artificial disc replacements for degenerative cervical and lumbar spine that most surgeons would default to a spinal fusion. Dr. Wong’s clinical areas of interests consist of adult degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, spinal tumors, artificial disc replacements, spinal fractures and spinal trauma. He has published over 60 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters in his academic career. His academic pursuits include teaching medical students/residents/fellows, speaking at national spine conferences, hosts cadaver surgical teaching courses, and trains surgeons from around the country on innovative surgical techniques. Dr Wong provides community outreach when he is often requested to perform or assist with complex spine surgeries and neurosurgical pathologies from multiple hospitals around the country.
