A different kind of practice
Large enough to lead the field. Small enough to know your name.
Most hospitals are designed to serve every specialty at once. DOCS was designed for two: spine and orthopedics. That focus shapes everything a patient experiences here.
| At DOCS | At a large hospital system | |
|---|---|---|
| Your surgeon | The same surgeon at every visit, in the operating room and after | Whoever is scheduled that day |
| Your time | Appointments within days and a team that answers | A waitlist and a call center |
| The technology | Selected by the surgeons who use it, and renewed as the field advances | Selected by committee, on a budget cycle |
| The setting | Operating rooms and staff devoted to spine and orthopedics | Shared across every department |
| Your recovery | A private suite and nurses who know your case | A shared floor and a change of shift |
| The philosophy | Regenerative care first, surgery when it is right | A procedure for every referral |
Our surgeons
Sixteen Physician-Specialists.
One standard.
Each is fellowship-trained and recognized in a single field. The surgeon you meet is the surgeon who operates, and the one who sees you afterward.

Technology
The most advanced tools, in practiced hands.
Robotics and navigation do not replace a surgeon’s judgment. They make it more exact. Every DOCS operating room is equipped for both, and our surgeons use them daily.
-
Robotic joint replacement
Hip and knee replacement planned from a CT scan of your own joint and carried out to the millimeter.

-
Robotic spine surgery
Each implant is mapped in three dimensions before surgery and guided into place by a robotic arm.

Imaging in the operating room
Three-dimensional imaging confirms the result before surgery ends. We were the first on the West Coast to have it.
Excelsius3D
-
Smaller, motion-preserving surgery
Endoscopic procedures through incisions of a few millimeters, and disc replacement that keeps the spine moving.
Endoscopic spine · Disc arthroplasty
Regenerative medicine and longevity
Surgery is one answer. Rarely the first.
Regenerative medicine is part of how we practice, at every stage. We use it to treat acute injuries early, to help patients avoid an operation, and inside the operating room to support the healing of the repairs we perform.
- For acute injuries
- Biologic treatment in the first days after a tendon, ligament or muscle injury, when it can matter most.
- In place of surgery
- Platelet-rich plasma, bone marrow concentrate and cartilage restoration that preserve the joint you were born with.
- Within surgery
- Biologics applied during repairs and reconstructions, as part of the operation itself.
- Motion preservation
- Disc replacement and endoscopic spine surgery as alternatives to fusion.
