Dr. Bob Baravarian is a board certified foot and ankle surgeon with over 25 years of experience in sports medicine and reconstructive surgery of the foot and ankle. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery. Dr. Baravarian is also one of a handful of foot and ankle surgeons to have both foot and reconstructive rearfoot and ankle certifications as a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons.
Dr. Baravarian is currently the chief of podiatric foot and ankle surgery at Providence St John’s Health Center and a past chief of podiatric foot and ankle surgery at Santa Monica/UCLA Medical Center, an editor emeritus and founding editor for the international peer reviewed journal Foot and Ankle Specialist, and and Assistant Clinical Professor at UCLA School of Medicine. Dr Baravarian has published over 300 foot and ankle articles, edited several book chapters and published 4 books on foot and ankle surgery. He has 12 foot and ankle related patents on orthopedic products and goods and has lectured at both the state, national and international level.
Dr. Baravarian specializes in sports medicine, reconstructive surgery and revision surgery of the foot and ankle including ankle replacement and arthroscopy of the foot and ankle, minimally invasive surgery and tendon and ligament repair. Dr. Baravarian also emphasizes conservative options for tendon and fascia pathology including stem cell and platelet rich plasma therapy options.
